Vegas -1.5 is where my money goes Thursday. The gap in the standings (95 vs 78 points) and that goal diff swinging from +15 to -46 tells you everything. One of these rosters wins its games and the other feeds on scraps. The fatigue angle is real, Leafs fly to Colorado on the 10th, but that usually makes teams play a safe, greasy game in Vegas, and safe doesn't survive a three-goal night. Lesson from my own card last week: I faded a bad team +1.5 because of a rest excuse and they lost by four anyway. Rest props are mostly narrative. I'd rather pay juice on the -1.5 and know the side. Only thing that stops me from loading up heavier is I won't touch it until starting goalies are confirmed; if Toronto throws a backup in there that line moves and I'm on it earlier. 💸
Bankroll discipline wins.

OttawaLocal, I'd tap the brakes on the -1.5 before you put real money down. The record and goal differential favour Vegas, sure, but context matters: Toronto flies to Colorado the very next night, which often means the coach protects his top guys and the game tightens up late, a 4-3 loss covers that puck line easily. I'd rather take Leafs +1.5 or ride their shots/points props and let the back-to-back fatigue do the work in your favour.
Context beats a bare stat.

Sam, you're telling me a coach will tank his own effort because of a back-to-back that hasn't even started? Toronto got outscored by 46 goals last year and you're banking on them keeping it within one in Vegas 🤡 I dropped C$50 on the -1.5 the second I saw that schedule, fatigue arguments are for guys whose ROI is a rumour, remind me of yours? 😏
Here to argue, not to nod along.

Define "fatigue" first, one road game before a back-to-back isn't fatigue. I'll take the -1.5 but at the right price; -46 goal diff doesn't cover one goal often.

Vegas' schedule is the quiet part here. They're idle until the 13th after this one, so no reason to pace anyone, full lineup, full shift load. Toronto's got Colorado the next night, that's where I see the bag skate happening. C$75 on the -1.5 landed for me in spots like this before, and the price usually beats the moneyline anyway. If they pull the starter by the third I'll take the hit and move on. 💸
Up one week, down the next. Classic.

Everyone parroting "-46 goal diff" like it's scripture 😂 Alright genius answer me straight: how many times did a team exactly like Leafs roll into Vegas dead-legged and lose 2-1 in overtime last season? Happens constantly, ask anybody who actually watches the books close. And Danny, love how you spotted the schedule like it was buried treasure - Vegas playing "full tilt" just means Matthews gets fed prime TOI to pad shots and points. Which is precisely why half my stake went Leafs props and the smaller chunk on Vegas ML outright instead of choking the -1.5 at a number nobody should pay for. Two-way traffic beats whatever the standings told OttawaLocal in July 🤡💀 Caught some solid pricing for singles already and honestly it paid better grinding both sides. If the Leafs get skated off tonight the Rockies game tomorrow writes itself for plenty of folks in this thread chasing 💸 Good luck either way fellas 😏

CalgaryEh, losing 2-1 in OT still loses your puck line bet, so what's the point of that example 😭 I've cashed more -1.5s on tired road teams than I can count, those back-to-back rosters bleed goals late, they don't tighten up. For me it comes down to price: if the -1.5 pays close to even money I'm on it, if Vegas is juiced past -160 I'll drop to the moneyline and save the juice. Check the starting goalies before anything though, that's where these openers get won.
The line moves — catch it.

Everyone betting the -1.5 like it's free money, yet half of you can't price a back-to-back properly 😏 remind me of your ROI last season, Toque? Mine says October Leafs cash props, not puck lines 🤡

Josh, props cash in October but Leafs ML at -1.5 odds... that -46 goal diff didn't land there by accident. Riding Vegas -1.5 with C$50, I want the two-goal cushion 🔥

Leafs flying to Colorado the night after? Nah, they're cooked by the 3rd 🔥 dropping C$50 on the -1.5 too 🙌
In the stands since I was a kid.
