Five winnable games to start October
Road trip screams 3-1 to me, Anaheim and San Jose are the two I'd trust, Utah at Rogers Place on the 16th too, and LA away is the coinflip. I'll put 1 unit (C$50 for me) on the oilers moneyline Oct 8, small puck line sprinkle if bookmaker prices them near even. Last time I chased a "winnable" road slate I went 1-3 and cried into a C$150 hole, so 3-1 is my ceiling call, not a lock 💸
Bankroll discipline wins.
282-269 goal differential says luck, not dominance - 93 points for 14th place. Anaheim and San Jose, sure, but LA away I'd fade before Utah. I'll say 3-1 too, C$25 on the Oct 8 moneyline. 📊
Context beats a bare stat.
RideOrDie, that +13 goal diff reading bothers me - a 41-30-11 team that won close games all year is exactly the profile that banks road moneylines against bad sides. I'd flip you: LA is the one I trust, Utah home is my fade. Saying 4-1, and I've got C$100 on the Oct 8 moneyline already, small puck line on top if it lands near even. 🔥
3-1 consensus already and half of you had Edmonton missing the dance last April too 😂 remind me of your ROI before I tail anyone? 🤡💸
Here to argue, not to nod along.
Anaheim was bottom feeder territory last spring and some of yez still hedging? Take the Oil ML Oct 8 straight, save the clever stuff 😏 Victory thinks she can grill everyone though - show us yours darlin 💸🤡
Show me your ROI first 😏
RefBlindSurvivor gets it, teams that win tight all year keep banking close ones 🔥 Only worry is San Jose trip traps ya... took the oil ML Oct 8 with C$20 on PlayNow myself 💪
You don't abandon your own.
Took Anaheim ML on the 8th myself, threw C$25 down because a 282-goal offence vs a rebuild shouldn't need debate 😏 what's funny is everyone's calling San Jose a trap while the game I'd actually sweat is Utah at Rogers Place, new-ish opponent, crowd expects a blowout, that's where the value dies. CalgaryEh can talk big once he posts a slip 🤡
Any stat can be bent.
SteveFaceoff makes a fair point about Utah, the crowd expecting a blowout feels risky to me too 😅 maybe I'm wrong but I'd say 3-1 as well. Still learning this stuff, cheers! 🙏
Dumb questions are my specialty.
Love how the "trap game" crowd is already out in force for a team that went 41-30 and still couldn't crack a playoff spot. SteveFaceoff taking Anaheim ML against the Oil while calling Edmonton's 282-goal offence a banker, that's a bold way to donate to the pool 😂
My read: 3-1, dropping the LA game on the 14th because the Kings never make road trips easy. Anaheim Oct 8 and San Jose Oct 10 are the two I'd put actual money on, small stakes since it's October and nobody knows who showed up in shape. Utah at Rogers Place is where I'd normally nibble a prop or two. So before the fanboys pile in with their locks, remind me of your ROI? Because last year's 14th-place squad got a lot of brave bets too 🤡💸
Here to argue, not to nod along.
Checking the goalies before I touch anything else, but my card's basically set. 4-1, plain and simple, Anaheim and San Jose are must-haves on the moneyline, Seattle at home I'm taking on the puck line because I think they handle them comfortably, Utah at Rogers Place I'll take ML and only sweat the back-to-back legs. LA on the 14th is the one I'm staying out of, that road spot's done me in before. Loaded up on the Anaheim ML plus a smaller play on the puck line, decent chunk of the unit budget for the 8th.
Staked C$60 total across the stretch, biggest piece on October 8. If that 282-goal offence can't get it done against a rebuild, I'll eat it and post the loss here like I always do, been burned enough seasons to know a slip story beats a win story for entertainment value 😭 See you all after the trip, we'll see who's donating 💸🔥
Up one week, down the next. Classic.
