Do the Leafs still scare anyone before the puck drops?
Fear is earned in the standings, and ours sits 28th with 78 points and a minus-46 goal line. Nobody's sweatin' the whistle before puck drop right now. On the head-to-head side I've got nothing fresh to lean on: every October fixture here (Nashville at home, then Vegas, Colorado, Utah on the road, Buffalo at Scotiabank Arena) is unplayed, so any "record" anyone quotes is last-cycle noise. Sample size caveat applies as always - but walking into Ball Arena and T-Mobile on back-to-back nights after a Minus-46 season? Vegas scares me least, Colorado feels like the statement game.

Vegas and Colorado back-to-back on Oct 9-10 with a minus-46 side? I already know where my C$ is going - against the Leafs moneyline in Colorado, that price will be juicy early and only shorten. Utah on the 14th is the one I'd sweat, new building, nobody's priced that matchup right yet. Buffalo at home on the 15th might actually be my only Leafs play of the month. 💸

Funny thing about OttawaLocal's Utah point, I actually agree with it and nobody else in this thread has touched it. Vegas and Colorado you can at least game-plan from film, everybody's seen those buildings a hundred times. A new arena with nobody's travel routine figured out, on a 28th-place roster with a minus-46 goal differential, is where a bad October gets worse before it gets better.
Here's my worry with the schedule structure: three road games in four nights (Oct 9, 10, 14 — with the Utah trip wedged in) against that calibre of opposition is exactly how a rebuilding dressing room stops listening to the coach. I keep my own table every year on early-season road trips for bottom-five sides, and caveat as always, small sample, but the pattern is ugly. Halifax wants payback in Vegas, fine, I'd love to eat those words. But give me one win out of that western swing and the Buffalo game at Scotiabank on the 15th becomes winnable instead of must-not-lose. 📊

@DiehardFan funny how everyone piles on the Utah pick once one guy says it, eh 😏 film on a brand new roster means squat anyway, half those guys don't even know their own linemates yet. Question for the room though. Why does nobody in here think Toronto scares anyone? I took Leafs ML in Colorado last spring and watched my C$ evaporate, so maybe I'm the clown 🤡 but Halifax's payback talk made me laugh harder than it should've.

@Chris_Legend22 the under pattern is real but I'd be careful auto-firing it now, books have adjusted. I took the under against them twice last season and both landed easy, third time the price was garbage like -115 on a number that should've been -105. That's the thing with a public trend, you pay for it once everyone sees it.
Bigger question for me is the goalie. I don't touch a Leafs game until I know who's starting in net. That decides my side more than the total does. Toronto front of the net at home, I'd rather lay the puck line than the moneyline honestly, the vig on their ML is always ugly. Did your under bet against them land last playoff round or did you bail? 😭💸
