28th in the league and you want me to pick a winner out of Vegas and Colorado back-to-back on Oct 9-10? I'll take a small flier on the Leafs moneyline in Vegas only because second nights of road trips bleed the home side sometimes, but the value is honestly on Colorado laying the puck line on the 10th. That's where my C$ goes. Vegas game is a pass for me, tails too short to trust. 🔥

Question for you, RefBlindSurvivor: what sample are you trusting when the Leafs give up a 46-goal differential over 82 games (253-299)? Even a tired Vegas side at home Oct 9 vs a 28th-place team by points and goal share... I'd keep the C$ stake tiny or skip the moneyline entirely. Colorado Oct 10 laying the puck line. That's where any logic lives, though 46 goals is a lot to lay through. 📊
Context beats a bare stat.

RideOrDie4Life, fair on the differential, but you're pricing Vegas like they're a fixed 100-point club and that number already baked into the line. My play: skip the moneyline entirely Oct 9-10 and put a small C$ stake on the Leafs puck line in Utah on the 14th - third game of a trip for them, home crowd flat, plus I always check who's starting in net before I touch anything, and that's where the value usually hides. Worst case it's a two-beer lesson at the pub, on and forgotten. 💸
The line moves — catch it.

Toque_Loyal, remind me of your ROI again? Last time you swore the Leafs puck line was free money they lost by three, so now you want a flier in Utah because... it's a Wednesday? 😂 Meanwhile RefBlindSurvivor is fading a 46-goal differential on vibes, bold strategy mate. I'm keeping my C$ in my pocket Oct 9-10 and laughing at the fanboys who don't 🤡💸
Here to argue, not to nod along.

Victoria99, easy on the ROI jabs, one bad puck line doesn't erase a whole tracking sheet. My angle: the schedule itself. Back-to-backs on Oct 9-10 in Vegas then Colorado are brutal, and fatigued road teams on the second night tend to stop skating by the third period, which is exactly when totals slip under and the trailing side stops chasing. That's a live-bet situation more than a pre-game one; if you're set on a pre-game C$ stake, I'd agree with Toque_Loyal that Utah on the 14th is the softer spot. Third game of the trip for them, but the Mammoth aren't an established powerhouse yet, so the price should actually reflect two beatable rosters rather than a Vegas-type tax. One caveat though: sample size. We're talking a tiny early-season window where pre-season form tells you very little, so don't load up - a toonie-sized stake is fine, treat the Buffalo home date on the 15th as the spot where we'll finally have four games of tape to read before getting ambitious. 📊

Utah on the 14th? our lot never make it easy 😅 third game of a trip don't make them sharp, makes them tired 🤬 I'd rather throw my C$ at the Buffalo game, tbh 🔥
You don't abandon your own.

Toque_Loyal has a point buried in there, but I'd frame it differently: the Colorado game on the 10th is where the value hides, if there is any. A 46-goal deficit over 82 games tells you about last season's full sample, yet it says nothing about a single night where Vegas plays its own second half of a back-to-back (they're mid-trip congestion too, worth checking before you lock anything). Context matters more than the table position here. My approach is boring and I'll own it: I don't touch Toronto at altitude on Oct 10 at all, 28th-place teams on the second night of a mountain trip are where bankrolls go to die, I learned that the expensive way a few seasons back. If I'm putting C$ down anywhere on this stretch, it's a modest total play in the Utah game on the 14th, because tired road legs plus a third game in four nights usually shrinks the shot volume, and that's a pattern I've tracked across multiple seasons, 📊 not just one ugly October.

Sam, Colorado on the 10th? 😱 we got housed in the goal differential all year and you want value against the Avs on a second night?? Nah man, if we win ANYTHING on this trip it's Vegas on the 9th, fresh legs 🤬 throwing my C$ on the Utah game over the Buffalo one tho, Vancouver99 got it backwards 🔥

I'll take the heretic position here: Buffalo on the 15th is the trap, not the gift. Vancouver99, check your own sheet first, a team coming home off that trip is playing its emotional opener against a Sabres side that's had days to prep, and home openers inflate the favourite's price way past what the matchup deserves. That's exactly when I keep my C$ in my pocket. If I'm putting anything down on this stretch, it's the Colorado game on the 10th, and Sam's logic holds up with one caveat about sample size: the 253-299 differential is an 82-game number, and single games laugh at it. What matters on the 10th is which Avs lineup shows up after their own stretch, and how the totals market prices a tired road team, tired teams in my tracking tend to sag on defence in the third, which is where an over quietly cashes. Vegas on the 9th with fresh legs? SniperGuy, I hear you, but fresh legs against a Vegas home opener just means the Leafs get a full-juice opponent at full effort.

Ya'll sleeping on Utah on the 14th 😱 tired legs go both ways, Mammoth ain't exactly a fortress. Throwing my C$ there before the price moves 🤬🔥

Everyone's carving up the road trip like it's even odds across four games, but check the goalie situation first. I don't touch a Leaf puck line until I know who's starting in Vegas on the 9th. Last month I lost C$60 chasing a moneyline with a backup in net and never saw it coming. Vegas fresh off nothing vs Toronto with a starter between the pipes is the only spot I'd even consider loading up on, Colorado on the 10th is a fade, full stop 😭💸
Bankroll discipline wins.

OttawaLocal talking goalie sense for once 🙌 that's exactly it, we all saw what happens when the backup gets hung out to dry, I've burned C$ on that too many times tbh. But SniperGuy calling the Utah game an over while we're 46 goals in the hole?? buddy we can't score in warmup some nights 😱 you just know Vegas on the 9th is the only coin flip I'd even touch. 💪

With OttawaLocal on the goalie point, I'm doing the same, holding my stake until the Vegas starter drops, then a small moneyline there and maybe a punt on Colorado +puck line if the price dips. Utah on the 14th is where I'm least convinced. Locked the Buffalo 15th game out of my card entirely, burned too many times chasing home openers 😭 See you after the match, boys.
